서울대학교 용합과학기술대학원 응용바이오공학과 바이오융합과학 연구실은 물방울 표면의 인터페이스에서 나타나는 물분자의 특이한 성질을 연구한 Microdroplet Chemistry 라는 연구 분야를 새롭게 개척하고, 바이오 나노 환경 에너지 분야에 적용하는 융합연구를 수행하고 있습니다.
현재 수행 중인 연구는
물방울에서 생성되는 활성산소를 이용한 해로운 박테리아나 바이러스를 제거하는 친환경 살균물질 연구
물방울을 이용한 고해상도 오믹스 (omics) 이미징 기술과 인공지능 정보 분석을 이용한 질병 진단과 치료
CO2 로부터 연료를 비롯한 유용한 물질을 만드는 인공 광합성 연구
물방울에서 만들어지는 나노구조물을 이용한 친환경 연료 전지·물 분해 촉매 개발
물을 이용한 수소에너지 생성 및 저장 기술 개발
물 정화 및 자기 표면 정화 기술 개발
로 바이오융합과학공학 연구실은 Microdroplet Chemistry 연구를 바탕으로 의학, 생물학, 재료 공학, 물리, 화학, 화학 공학, 전기 전자 공학 등 다양한 분야에서의 융합 연구를 추구하고 있습니다.
We study the unique physico-chemical properties of water microdroplets and apply the microdroplet chemistry techniques to various biomedical research areas.
We are currently focusing on (1) safe, green disinfection of pathogens, including Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) as well as various bacteria using reactive oxygen species generated in the water microdroplet, (2) the treatment of cancer and infectious diseases, (3) green synthesis of nanostructures for energy applications, (4) artificial photosynthesis for converting CO2 into fuel, (5) chemical imaging and diagnosis of diseases by combining the microdroplet chemistry with mass spectrometric techniques.
